The cleaning is the easy part. Hero handles the collecting: Direct Debit for the ones who will take it, bank matching for the ones who transfer, and automatic chasing for everyone else.
Direct Debit, so the money just arrives
Send a customer a link, they set up a Direct Debit once, and from then on the money comes to you after each clean. No cash tin, no bank transfer that never quite happens, no awkward reminder at the door. It runs through GoCardless, so your customers are covered by the Direct Debit Guarantee.
Bank transfers matched to invoices for you
Export a statement from your banking app, drop it into Hero, and it works out which invoice each payment settles. Amounts that match go through on their own, including one transfer that clears several cleans at once. Anything it is not sure about - a part payment, a payment with no reference - is held back for you to confirm rather than guessed at.
Tips and overpayments handled, not lost
Someone rounds up to £20 on an £18 clean? Confirm it as a tip, or hold it as credit against their next visit. Either way it is recorded against the customer instead of sitting in the bank as an oddity you will puzzle over in March.
What has actually landed, this week and this month
The first thing you see when you open Hero is what has come in, not what you have invoiced. Money collected, jobs left today, and which part of the round is paying for itself.
Invoices sent, and a record that stands up
Every completed job produces an invoice, sent by WhatsApp, text or email with a PDF. Paid, sent, overdue - the list tells you where you stand at a glance, and every payment stays attached to the customer it came from.
The stragglers chased without you doing it
For anyone still paying by cash or transfer, Hero notices who is behind and nudges them for you, on a schedule you set. A failed Direct Debit gets one automatic retry before it is flagged. Late payers stop quietly piling up.
Bank connections are read-only and time-limited: Hero can see money coming in, and can never move it. GoCardless charges its own small fee per Direct Debit payment you collect, separate from your Hero subscription.
